Problem:

According to the health ministry, 9.3 million Sri Lankans have eyesight issues. That’s three out of every seven Sri Lankans, making 43% of the total population suffer from an eyesight problem. On top of this, Sri Lankans ignored vision impairments for years without doing anything about them.

Insight:

Reading is a deeply rooted cultural aspect for Sri Lankans, as is proven by the country’s literacy rate of 91.7%.

The Eye-Opening Bookmark

Turning an everyday bookmark into a hand-held eye chart We designed a bookmark with an interesting story printed on it. The story started with a font size that anyone could read, and as the story reached the most interesting part, the font size gradually got smaller, making it unreadable for anyone with eyesight issues.
